how do parents (dads especially) outright deny paying support, and you can do nothing. a deadbeat parent doesnt have any thing and intentionally doesnt work to not have to pay support, even when there is a court order, why do they not go to jail!!!! maybe its because im on the loosing side. ive always supported my child with the only father hes ever known, his stepdad since age 2. and we have always done it on our own, but when money is tight, it infuriates me that this person has no accountability. iam i wrong. what do other people think about this? and no i dont even know where he is, and havent for several years. sorry about rambling.

Have you called your local child support agency and demanded enforcement of your court order? If he is over 120 days behind with no payments it can be referred to the DA for criminal non support. Sounds like this is the case. Most CSA's don't act when you're not asking them to--so ASK! Here is a link to OCSE--click on your state and find your local agency--get an appointment and ask for enforcement! If he is alive and working--it won't take too long to track him down.

in my experience, many just don't have it...they are either not working at all, barely making any living, or like out in the streets addicted to alcohol/drugs, etc

NOW for these men and women who DO have something, I have no sympathy at all

and there is an element in society of men and women who have several children and work very low paying jobs

let me break it down for you, lets say I have 6 kids, spread about various relatives houses and with their fathers...and I work at Burger King making 6 dollars an hour...I only work 32 hours a week because they really don't need me for 40...

so i make about $733 a month after taxes...my rent is $450 (hahahaha I challenge anyone to find a place to stay for that) and the rest has to be for utilities and parcelled out among 6 kids

yeah right

it is all very very sad

have a good day

***also, by the way, and I am sorry to hear about your child's dad, the courts are a male institution and as most of the deadbeat parents are men, there is hesitation to do more to them...in fact, there is a movement to "take back" the child support system...and those women who collect child support and don't need it or abuse it make it hard for the other women...and some of these people not paying are just lazy...***
