Prince is a good young player with a huge upside while Albert is an absolute monster, it has to be Albert. However, if you just want to reduce it to numbers with Pujols 303-16-45 and Fielder 289-26-56 someone could make an argument the otherway. Give me Pujols any day and you can have anyone else.

This year its easily Prince. He leads the league in home runs and is quite possibly on his way to the NL MVP this year. Albert has had a down yers (by his amazing standards anyway) and simply hasn't been the best 1B in the NL for the first half. If I was picking one or the other to build a team around Pujols would be the obvious choice, but right Prince is simply having a better season and deserves his first All-Star start, even though I dobut he will get it.

The all-star game isn't about track record or futures, it's about the current season, and who has made the impact on his time during the year to deserve to be an all star. Of course it has to be Prince Fielder, he's been the most consistent and powerful player in the NL right now. Pujols is the best hitter in the league behind A-Rod and will end up being one of the greatest hitters of all time, but right now you have to give the nod to Fielder.

Prince of course. Don't give me that track record garbage. He has earned it. Albert has earned the right to be his reserve. I hate it when people give out honors like starting all-star 1B when the other guy clearly has earned the spot.
AND TO THE PERSON ABOVE ME...He hasn't proven that he can consistently hit for power? Are you kidding me? Prince hit 28 last year and has 26 so far this year. What do you consider to be power? Even Henry Aaron didn't hit 40 homers every season. He ranged in the mid-20s to mid-40s during his career.

Albert because of track record. Prince needs to pay his dues first and take a bench spot this year. Maybe next year will be different. Don't forget about Ryan Howard too! Prince over Howard this year though, it's called for.

i think of the Cubs ought to get Fielder. there is not any way the Brewers can sign him with the money he's calling for, extraordinarily in the event that they get to or win the WS. i'm questioning Pujols will stay in St. Louis. BQ: i do no longer unavoidably think of they're contenders merely with the aid of fact of one signing. They badly want pitching so until in addition they sign an invaluable pitcher they gained't be contending for a WS, even with the undeniable fact that that's truthfully a step in the remarkable path.

That's a tough one...here are my arguements for each one:
Pujols-he's consistently proven he's a great hitter. However, the World Champ Cardinals aren't exactly having a good season....
Fielder-he's having a great year. Just terriffic. The Brewers even look like contenders this year. However, he hasn't yet proven he can consistently hit for power...
Honestly, I just don't know who to vote for. I usually just vote for a random 1st basemen in the NL because I don't know who to vote for.
EDIT:
To the person below me (aka The Saint etc):
Don't hate me!
