for me, eye contact lenses are causing all this frustration. i am so sick of glasses so i bought contacts and i tried them at the doctor's office but i couldn't get it there so he told me to take them home and try them. I always try, but in five minutes I get so frustrated and my eyes get irritated and I just give up. I get so angry and tell myself "this isnt FAIR! even people younger than me can do it!" (i am 15) it just makes me mad that i can't do something that seems so incredibly easy to some people. But i REALLY want to change my image and i think this will help me. The contact comes realllly close to my eye and then once i feel the wetness i blink and get scared. ARGHHHHH!

Aww honey, I started contacts at the same time as you. I could get them in at the doctor's office, but the nurses had to take them out for me.
Keep at it, it'll work.

Here:
Wash your hands.
With your left hand, make a peace sign.
Use the extended index and middle finger to hold your right eye open, with the fingers over your eyelashes.
Look towards where your fingers meet (or all the way to the left)
Put your right index finger on the place where your iris would be if you were staring straight ahead.
Pull your finger away.
Keep your eye open using the finger!
Look straight ahead.
Look to the right.
Look to the left.
Release your eye, but don't close it yet.
Then close it, and keep it closed for five seconds.
Open it again.

That's what you have to do to put in contacts. Practice a few times before you actually try with a contact lens.

Also, practice holding your eye open while applying eye drops.

Good luck!

I get freaked out when I've left them in too long and can't take them out--eventually, my eyes get really red because I'm poking at them and I can't get them out.

Well, are you wanting an answer about handling frustration or do you want answers like you've received that address contact lenses and glasses. I can't answer the latter since I've never used contacts, but I can assure you that, at 15 years of age, you're going to have LOTS of opportunities to face frustration as your life progresses, and sometimes the best idea is to "give up", and other times it's best to keep plugging away at it. It's all up to the circumstances, but you'll have PLENTY of opportunities to work with frustration as life goes on. Trust me on that one. God Bless you.

They really have lots of cool glasses out there these days. I think lots of people look better with glasses. I know my cousin does. And I have a beautiful neice whose features are more pronounced with glasses on.

I have seen Tina Fey with and without glasses, and she looks better with glasses. My co-worker has these silver framed designer glasses that have the wider side bands like nice sunglasses that you have to go to a more upscale eyeglass place to buy, but they make him look really fashionable no matter what he's wearing.
