All business casual means is that you do not need to be in a full suit, but you need dress shirt, tie, dress pants, and dress shoes

I am not sure what kind of job you are interviewing for, but I would still go as your definition of business casual. Better to be more dressed up and look impressive for your interview than to look like a slob. My understanding is business casual is anything "businessy" without being as formal as a suit, so for men, nice slacks and a button down, and for women, nice slacks or skirt with a nice button down or nice sweater, or a nice dress. My company is technically business casual, but people go even more casual wearing polo shirts and khakis. If you do get the job, my recommendation would be to get some nice slacks. Sounds like you are pretty fashion forward, my favorite places for slacks are banana republic, jcrew, gap, express, and the limited. Mix in some more "suit-like" pants with more casual khaki type pants, and you should be good for any situation. I like to wear my more casual pants with dressier shirts (button downs or blouses) and my dressier pants with more casual sweaters. Then when I do wear my more dressier stuff, I tend to get lots of compliments for how nice I look. I also have a lot of flats (ballet flats, cute, comfy, still businessy) and lots of boots (comfy and good for winter). No sense in getting too dressed up when you can be comfy and still look put together.
