I think it all depends on how much your spouse and you earn, how much free time you have on hand and how healthy the mother is.
I personally want to have 2 kids as I think that more than that my body may start to suffer. If we have enough time and money to support more kids, I'll be very happy to adopt kids. This way we have a bigger family and give those little angels a home.
I, too, want to have a big family as I was raised as an only child by my grandparents. Still, I have to make sure that my kids have a good life. It's better for them to be two with a good education and met needs than be 10 with no education and living in poverty.
Good luck in your life!

Having a big family can be a huge blessing but there are things to consider. You don't have to decide on a number now and go for it. It all depends on what your situation is at that time. You have to see whether you are ready emotionally and financially to have a child. After the first one, you have to gauge your position again and go for the next one and so forth. Also if having a big family is something very important to you- you will need to talk to your spouse-to-be before marriage and see whether that is also what he/she wants.
Make your decision depending on your situation when you start having children. Remember that you don't want to hurt the children's futures. For instance if you see that you may not be able to save for two of your children's schooling or college if you have a third one- don't. You wanna raise them well. I think two-three is usually normal- four may be pushing your finances but it's ofcourse possible.

only you can decide for yourself how many you should have. i am the youngest of 9. i loved growing up in a big family. the biggest thing about having big families nowadays is that the cost of living is much higher and most of the time - that requires both parents to work. I was very fortunate in the fact that my mother stayed at home - and my dad made a pretty good living. If you are one that would have to work - the cost of daycare alone would break you. it's crazy what you have to pay for that now - and im sure that it will just keep going up.
But personally - don't let anyone tell you how many you should have... that is your decision. i have 3- sometimes i wish that i had more now that they are just about grown.

In my family there is 8 of us. You can have as many children as you would like as long as you know you are able to provide for them. I would start out with the first and see how things go as far as finances and take it from there. Make sure you have good health Insurance because that right there is one BIG bill with the doctors, hospital.etc.. Will it be too hard on each child if there is many? No I dont think so,as long as you spread your love around to each and everyone of them. I am so grateful for my brothers and my sister and believe me you as you get older you become so very glad that they are here----all of them. So I say the more the merrier. Good-Luck to you on your future family.

As many kids as you want, there is no limit, my sister in law has six kids. The number of children two people can have or want it limitless or up to God.
It all depends on the financial situation of the mother and the father, yes, we are going through hard times these days, but if the parents can afford to have as many kids as they want, then God bless them!
Like I said the number of children a couple wants to have is up to them and their financial situation.

it depends on your ability to raise the kids
and the support you will receive from your spouse or partner
my mom said she wanted 5 kids but after she had my brother she only ended up w/ 2
after you have your first couple children your mind may change
i would say 4 and no more

My grandmother had 13 children of which she had 2 sets of twin boys, but they lived on a farm.
Four children today, means college educations and good jobs because it takes a lot of money to feed, clothe, house and educate 4 children.
If you live on a farm - go for it.
