I am 13 and got my period 7 months ago. Summer is coming and I want to go swimming. I know you cant swim with pads but are there anything else that i can use. Tampons hurt when i try t put them in. Can you recomend any ways to get them in without alot of pain.

Are you trying the slenderest tampon? Make sure it has a plastic applicator. Put a little petroleum jelly on the tip.
It hurts because you are not putting it in correctly.
In a sitting position, Angle the tampon so it is aiming towards your lower to middle back and spread apart your vagina and slowly glide it in.
Remember to relax and breathe. It took me forever to get my first tampon in.

Unfortunately, your options are limited! Tampons are really your best bet, though there is an item called The Diva Cup available - it's like a small rubber cup that actually sits just inside your vagina, though I imagine if you're having problems with tampons, you won't be comfortable with a Diva Cup either!
Relax, and try a tampon again. Remember, women give birth to babies over 8 lbs...vaginas can handle a tiny piece of cotton! Pick a tampon with a lower absorbency and with a plastic applicator. The key is to relax and not rush yourself. You can do it!

OMG I am going through the same thing! I highly reccomend tmpax peral and DON't use playtex! Maker sure that you aim at your lower back and aim straight! Hitting the walls causes pain! After the first time I swear it gets so much better! Believe me! Laso sit up straight and relax, tense muscles only make it harder! Good luck.

If it hurts you are definitely putting it in incorrectly. If you are unsure ask someone who you trust or your doctor to show you how. I was doing it worn the first while I used them but I had my mom show me the correct way. It was humiliating at first but I got over it and was glad I asked her for help. That's what mom's are for!
