"Just any test" isnt the right way to go. You may have lower hcg (pregnancy hormone) and it may take til week three to get a positive. FRED (First Response Early Detection) has the lowest IU's of hcg needed to get a positive and are comparable to what they use at the Doctors office. Here is a handy chart I saved from when I was preggo the last time.
Notice how week 4 (the week your next period is due) the number varies from 5-426? Most pregnancy tests like ept and cheaper require 100 IU's of the hormone....you could be under 100. Most Doctors offices Quick Vue dip sticks are 40 IU's. Fred's are 50 IU's.
This is standard level of HCG
Week 3 -7 0 to 5
Week 4 14 (next period due) 5 to 426
Week 5 21 18 to 7340
Week 6 28 1,080 to 56,500
Weeks 7 to 8 35 to 42 7,650 to 229,000
Weeks 9 to 12 49 to 70 25,700 to 288,000
Weeks 13 to 16 77 to 100 13,300 to 254,000
Weeks 17 to 24 4,060 to 165,400
Weeks 25 to birth of baby 3,640 to 117,000
4 to 6 weeks after birth Less than 5
As you can see from this chart, every woman is different. The only 100 way to know super early is a blood test. So dont get discouraged!!! You just may be preggo! Now take those vitamins!!
Good luck and I wish you baby dust!!!

It is really normal for young women to experience irregular periods. You might skip a period. Then have a longer or shorter period. Then you might go back to a normal period. You get the picture. This process is important, though, because your body is learning to settle into a regular menstrual cycle. In a few months, your body should figure out which cycle is best for you. That might mean a period every 20 days, 28 days, 34 days, or something in between. Some girls have irregular periods their whole lives. But if the bleeding doesn’t become more regular, see a doctor. There are many reasons why a girl might miss a period, including: * Her period cycle hasn’t stabilized yet * Stress * Too much exercise * Strict dieting * Pregnancy A missed period can be the first sign of a pregnancy. If you have had unprotected vaginal intercourse then it is important to know if you are pregnant as soon as possible. Get a home pregnancy test from a store or, better yet, make an appointment with your doctor or at a clinic.

There's not a big difference in the dollar store ones vs. the more expensive ones, so don't blame it on that. You either have the hormone coming up, or you don't. You may have just tested too early, or you just aren't pregnant. I know it's hard to wait, but you need to wait until you're a week or so late, then take any test. Your symptoms could all be from stress. Don't get too hyped up, even though that's easier said than done. Good luck~

I don't think your pregnant the brand of the pregnancy test has nothing to do with the results of the test. You are probbaly just stressed. Your period should be on the way once you relax. But if you are still concerned call a doctor!

You should buy a test to find out, clearblue digital test is good as it says in words preg or not preg. If your period doesnt arrive a week later you should check with your Doctor and they will let you know if you are or not

The sensitivity of the test for the dollar store might not be as great as that of EPT or easy blue. You should buy one of those cause you can use that before a missed period.

Any test should be accurate once your period is a week late. Go to your doctor and have a blood test done.
