If you have ever made cord with your mother or grandmother you might remember that you took several long lengths, twisted them, most likely by putting a pencil in the end and twisting that a lot of times, and folding the whole length double, often people put siccors in the fold for weight, and let it twist the other way. You can do that with your floss too.
Ropemaking is basicly the same, but with 3 strands mostly.
If you can get hold of one of those hair braiding machines they sell for girls, you can use that.

There are also groups on internet about ropemaking, as well as about knots, where the people know about ropemaking too.
