I think racism is stupid. I think that everyone is created equal, and thus, should have equal opportunities and rights.

Gosh that is a good question. I would love to know the answer for this one.

Just me personal opinion though. I think it is a Jerry Springer mentality. Jerry Springer was not popular until he started having racists on his show and then his ratings went up and now Yahoo is taking the same attitude. There is no action unless there are a few people ranting and raving about how much they hate blacks and other races.

No one has a "right" not to be offended. That right does not exist. You may have other rights that you can exercise to avoid being offended, such as your rights of privacy and property. You can tell an offensive guest in your home that he must leave, for example.

But you do not have any right not to be offended per se. The Founders of the United States were well aware that some people find some truths unpleasant and their utterance, therefore, offensive. They chose to stand with freedom of speech, and to that freedom they sacrificed immunity from offended feelings. As long as this is America, as long as we are Americans, we will accept that judgment by our Founders as wise... which it is, and would be even if they hadn't seen the right of it.

Never exaggerate. Offense is NOT oppression. You are not oppressed unless you are confined, coerced, or robbed. You have just as much right to speak as do those who offend you, and that's ALL THE BALANCE YOU DESERVE, and it is ALL THAT YOU WILL EVER NEED.

They aren't. You can always report them. You will notice that the worst offenders don't get to stay on here very long. They might come back with a different account name, but they usually just get booted off again.

Freedom of Speech Although i don't condone racists remarks we must all remember that the 1st amendment to the US Constitution allows all of us the right to say what we please. If you start making laws to silence those who wish to spout hate then you are also silencing the right to speak freely.

Not all tigers are maneaters.
Even a man-eating tiger isn't hungry all the time.
Still, when I see a tiger coming toward me on the sidewalk, I cross to the other side of the street.
