Solve for x.
3x/4=7-x/3

The Forward Slash is a fraction bar. The problem should read 3x over 4 equals 7 minus x over 3

If the 7 - x is all over 3, then it should have brackets round, and be written:
3x / 4 = (7 - x) / 3.
If that is correct, then proceed as follows:
Multiply by 12:
9x = 4(7 - x)
Expand the brackets:
9x = 28 - 4x
Add 4x to each side:
9x + 4x = 28
(9 + 4)x = 28
13x = 28
Divide by 13:
x = 28/13.

I would cross multiply to get rid of fractions:

3x......7 - x
--- = ----------
4...........3

(3x)(3) = (4)(7 - x)
to get
9x = 28 - 4x

then add +4x to both sides to get
13x = 28

then divide both sides by 13 to get
x = 28 / 13

* Check your work
plug x = 28 / 13 back into
original equation:
3[28/13]/4 is the same as 3[7/13] or 21/3
[7-28/13]/3 is the same as [63/13]/3 or 21/3
so this looks correct.

my basic math could be off but it should look something like this by step

3x/4=7-x/3
3x=28-4x/3 (mutlipy by 4)
9x=84-4x (multipy by 3)
9x+4x=84
13x=84
x=84/13

not sure what you mean by utilising 'algebraic fractions'. Do you basically decide to remedy the equation the place this = 0? Or factorise this? Or... use long branch? Please make clean the question.

3x/4=7-x/3
3x/4+x/3=7
(9x+4x)/12=7
13x/12=7
13x=84
x=84/13
