Well, until I saw the movie Blood Diamond the other night, I would have said diamonds. But now, most definitely flowers!!!

I am going to answer this question honestly. I would prefer flowers. They brighten my day when given to me and for a long time to come. Flowers can be given more often since they don't cost a fortune.
I never understood the big deal about diamonds. So they cost a lot of money, I don't care. I don't need expensive things to show I am thought of and I don't want them.

I really like Jasmines' answer.
I hate the fact that people today, no offence but women are the worst for this, are so superficial and materialistic.
My cousins are no exception.... They want the best and if you can't provide that as a man they have no use for you.

I'm simple... I don't care about money, never have. To be honest, I've dated a guy who owned his own business and would fly me to where he had business meetings, take me out for expensive dinners, and in the end, we broke up.... I dind't really like it. I didn't like having the money spent on me and I would have prefered somebody like who I ended up marrying. He never had a great deal of money but he knew what I wanted and cared to know what I liked. He would write me poetry, give me flowers, take me out for meals we both liked (simple things like Chinese or pizza)... we'd have dates in the park.... I'm happier (by far) with him than I was with Mr Money.

So to answer the question, I'd take flowers anyday cause my husband is my "diamond in the rough"...
