Hi! A few months ago I went off of the Pill becuase of the crazy side effects I was having, especially with my moods! I'm married but we would like to not have kids for a few more years. We have been using a condom for protection. Well today my doctor suggested Yaz, I don't know if I want to go back on the pill I was on it for 7 years and really never felt myself. I was using Alesse for 4 years and seasonale for 3. Who has used Yaz and how do you feel about it? Thanks!!

I'm on Yaz strictly for severe PMDD (premenstrual dysphoric disorder). I have read/heard some stories about how it makes some women moody, but in many cases, it's really helping women with PMDD, which is a very debilitating form of PMS (times a million).

I tried Alesse a while ago, after the birth of my now 8 year old. That pill plus another one made me horribly moody, I couldn't continue taking them. I didn't even have severe PMS back then. So, when I read that Yaz is a bcp that actually HELPS with something like PMDD, I was a bit skeptical. It has helped me tremendously, though.

I've been on Yaz since October. I was on many antidepressants before that, first for a horrible case of PPD (postpartum depression). When the PMDD came about, NONE of the meds helped at all with it. Once I began taking the Yaz, I was able to punt the meds. :)

It's all different for everyone, of course. You can always try the Yaz, for at least a couple of months, and if it works, great. If not, stop taking it. It's worth a shot.

I hope that you find something that works well for you.

i have been taking birth control for over 10 years. for the majority of that time i was on Ortho- Tri- Cycline. i have been taking Yaz now for a few months because i get free samples at the office i work in. i cant see a difference at all. i am still moody no matter what im taking. i totally flip out before my period so my dr. put me on Lexapro. couldnt really see a change with that either. im just a B#$#&!

My Wife didn't like the way it made her feel.. But everyone reacts differently. You might want to ask your doctor for samples and see how you feel after a few days...
