Okay i was reading book four and the word "Auror" comes up multiple times. What the heck is an auror?

J.K. Rowling explains what an auror is in the book. An auror is a wizard whose job it is to track down and "take care of" evil wizards, so to speak. They are employed by the Ministry of Magic. A good example is Mad Eye Moody, who is a well-renowned auror in Harry's world. Another auror is the character Tonks, who shows up in book 5. Also, auror is the profession that Harry wants to have when he grows up.
