51% to 49% does NOT mean Dems control Congress.

Dems tend to not tow the party line quite like Republicans. This means that Republicans are required to pass off on bills if they ever hope to pass them in both the House and the Senate.

Then Dumbya vetoes it. That means that 2/3 majority is needed to override the President's veto.

With a 51% to 49% lead, they'll never have 2/3 majority.

A one or two percent difference between the number of seats a party holds is not enough to control and dominate Congress, such as the Republicans enjoyed for the last 7 years.

7 years of not getting a damn thing done I might add.

My son showed the same signs at the same age as your son. He ended up being diagnosed with ADD. He's now much older and is permanently on stimulant medication and it is a miracle for him. He cannot function without. But at so young an age, I wouldn't go to medication first. Try the nutrition approach. There are some children that are lacking in certain essential amino acids and fatty acids and it affects their attention and listening ability. There are supplements in health food stores that can help. It's called Effelex. Or you could take your child to a naturopath, and they'll get him on the right track. My son is now 19 and though the nutrition approach helps, it didn't do the total job for him, so unfortunately he needs medication. But try natural first, and see what happens. You may be lucky and discover your son has a mild case of ADD. But these nutritional supplements cannot be ignored. They work magic. My son needs both! For some reason, boys develop this more than girls. But don't give up. Start trying this method and see if it'll help him. Good luck!

One party is as bad as another. Everyone is soooo busy drawing party lines that they failed to see the fact they are are all crooks. Buck up and face the facts that the PEOPLE of the US elect the people in office. If you don't like who is there, then do the foot work to change it. All politicians have the same agenda, themselves. They vote for what makes them richer, not what is right.

The 51-49 margin means they get to control the agenda and decide what gets done and what doesn't and that means alot since there agenda is to have abortions all over the place and tell people they don't have to work and can do legal drugs if they want and only hard working corporations have to pay taxes.

One socialist democrat is one to many for me if you ask me.

You gave a lecture, you didn't ask a question. I paid a lot of attention in class... got a 3.8 GPA (that's almost straight A's) in college, thank you very much, and my degree is in American government.

I interned for a US Congressman in his district office and in Washington DC all through highschool and college. I know how Congress works, thanks.

As for towing the party line, both parties are quite good at that. The dems are no better or worse than the repubs in just about anything. Both have become largely ineffective in getting anything done.

Feel free to come to our townhouse in northern Virginia and lecture to your heart's content. Maybe you can have a debate with our 6 year old daughter - she knows a lot about politics already. It would be fun for both of you.

I could be just like a liberal and report a TOS violation because you have no question. (since it's not in a Conservatives nature to suppress freedom of speech, I'll let you ramble on..) Facts you are saying but a question you are lacking. Republicans know how it works, libs don't. When the Congress went into the majority of the house, it was just that. The majority. I congratulate them on a job well done by the way. Bang up job!

GO TEAM GO!

I was paying attention in class. I have also been paying attention to current events. You need to recheck your "facts".
