Ok...I made a purchase from ebay for my cockatiels. I made immediate payment and waited for the item. I did get it with a note that states: "Your feedback will be appreciated as we would to the same." I did leave a positive feedback but I indicated that the product had a very strong smell of smoke. The seller left feedback for everyone else except me. Isn't that rather rude? I held up my end of the bargin and I am assuming it is because I mentioned the odor in the positive feedback he or she did not leave a feedback.

feedback is voluntary. dont fret about it. Your statement was factual about the product recevied, and will let others who view the sellers feedback that their items may have the smell of smoke attached to it.

remember FEEDBACK is VOLUNTARY.

You are right about it being rather rude. The only thing you can do if you are concerned about not getting the feedback is to contact the seller by email and ask him to leave feedback. This may however prompt negative feedback if he is frustrated about your comments. In the scheme of things, one person not leaving feedback will not negatively impact your ebay rating.

It is rather rude, but you will find on Ebay that unless you leave a glowing, fully-positive message, sellers get cranky. I don't think there's anything that you can do to force or shame them into leaving a positive. I've talked with more than one person who has been given a retaliatory negative for a positive with a negative comment or for a neutral feedback. It isn't right, but it happens.
