There is corruption in Washington and Mainstream Media, it is a threaten to our soveriegnty and unity. And PLEASE DONT ANSWER MY QUESTION WITH A QUESTION.

We are divided because Bush's actions have forced us to show our true colors as either a conformist and non-conformist, obey and trust authority or question authority. It has pushed us to different sides of the room. It would be better if we could all meet more closely, but I do believe that Bush's tactics are to divide and conquer.

Consider this:
When I marched in an anti-war parade 4 months before we invaded Iraq, people called me a terrorist sympathizer and anti-American.
I am neither. I wanted a rationale approach that would not de-stabilize the Middle East.
NOW, I find myself faced with people who still want to throw our resources at an unwinnable situation, when China and Russia are becoming stronger and our military leaders say our strategic footing is being compromised.
Members of my family have come back from Iraq wounded, without getting the medical attention they need due to red tape.
And STILL the president doesn't listen the people. It is the majority of the population being unheard by Bush!
He is crazy! HE is dividing the nation. What am I supposed to do? Just go along with him? Or just give up and watch TV and let others worry about it?

We, as a country, need to get over this left/right paradigm. It is a hoax to divide and conquer. The Republicans and Democrats all work for the same people. The race is fixed.
We are all Americans. We can agree to disagree. But I think we can all agree that something is not right lately. Lets fix it together. Get active. Grassroots can succeed.

We are divided because there are different ideas of what is in the best interest of our country. Whenever there are differences in opinion, there will be division. Division is a sign that our free society is working and that there is actually freedom of thought. Eliminating political division is only possible in a totalitarian society where only one idea is legal and acceptable and all others are illegal or unacceptable.

We need to unite against the dividers in washington dc. Reject the politics of left v. right and become a supporter of america, not corrupt political parties that screw us all.

There has always been different political thoughts and ideas in this country.
However instead of talking about the issues some elements would rather make nasty, ignorant, personal attacks.
That is not politics, that is simply stupidity. It is as if they do not want anything to work, unless their party is 100% right,100% of the time.

We are divided because we have the freedoms here to think and speak and hold whatever opinions we want. And this is a good thing.
The bad thing is the lack of respect with which the opposing sides treat those who don't agree with them.
Be a little open minded. Be respectful. Everyone wants the best for our country... it's just that people have different visions of what is "best" and how to achieve it.

You are going to get a slew of answers on this one. Most of them will be wrong because they will be derived based on emotion. Yes, I realize people will disagree with me on this but that doesnt change the truth of the matter.
There are currently two main parties in our system - two because the others were hedged out as people gave up personal responsibility. There is ONLY one party that has a philosophy people can live by. The ONLY principled party in existence today is the libertarian party. All the other parties want to control your life in one fashion or another.
So we have the right winged conservatives. These people want you to have control over your business but they want 100% control over your morals and the way you live your life...ie the abortion fight, security etc.
Then we have the left winged liberals. These people want you to have complete freedom of all your morals but they want to control 100% of your business...thus the laws and taxes etc etc .
The problem with both of these is that both of them ar ein power which means we have people who control yoru business and your morals....you are a slave to the system unless you do something about it.
The Libertarian party wants YOU to have complete control of your morals and your business and they want government to be so small that it cannot interfere with your life. It is the ONLY political party that empahsizes freedom of choice of evertything provided you dont use force to get it.
This of course, by necesssity would mean that each person would have to be responsible for thier choices and all the rewards/consequences steming from those decisions....OMG what a concept, make a decision and be responsible for the outcome.
People dont wnat to be blamed. They want to have to make a choice because then its their fault if something doesnt work out they way it should. They want to government to do it so they have someoen else to blame...you know what...if you vote other then libertarian you get the government you deserve.
And for all those readers who say its must stay a two party sustem and they will vote for the lesser of tow evils I leave you with one thought....if you vote for the lesser of tow evils you are still voting for evil....dont be surprised if you get what you vote for.

The division isn't a bad thing...diversity breeds great ideas. It is the hateful division that is eating away at the country. And it starts with each individual...deciding that he will stop posting hateful messages and maligning everything about the other 'side'.
