it would lead you were you want to go... but when you get there, is that where you want to be? if it is then no if it isn't then yes

It certainly can. I've been there--actually, it's fun while it lasts. The important thing is that--at least for me--it never lasted very long, & the sky sure as heck didn't fall at the end of it! Yet, the one I loved most BEGAN with "heart," no thinking at all, & developed into something quite awesome. So I'm not one to say that if you follow with your heart, it will Never, or ALWAYS lead you astray. Just try to be sure that if it does, you just go on from there. Also remember the differences between being led astray, being disappointed, or rejected, & take them on the chin. I was the one who always ended a relationship; the fire just burned out, excited about new horizons, & not ready to make commitments, so I don't have any idea of the hurt people express here at the ending of something. Perhaps they need to realize that a PERSON isn't their whole world?

I personally believe it will lead you astray more often than not, but that also depends on what you mean by "astray". I believe all humans have self-seeking, greedy hearts and desires. We will screw family and freinds to get ahead. Now if you believe that there is some sort of god, search for his (or her or it's) heart. Chances are that God's heart and desires would be the best to aim for seeing as how, if there is a god, he's the one that created our hearts and is the only one that can give us purpose. If you follow your own heart, no matter where it leads you, without God you'll always end up in the same place - dead with nothing to say for your life except that you did what you wanted to do. If you come to believing that there is no god, than what other choice do you have but to follow your own heart? You're the only one who's going to really look out for your own emotional and physical needs. But try not to walk all over others in your pursuit for satisfaction, I would actually say that real happiness first comes from God, and after that it comes from helping others in need whatever the circumastance without worrying about your own personal gain.

Heart has desires and is irrational, following the heart could hurt others and will lead you ASTRAY.

It is the Conscious Mind you need to follow, this would lead you far from ASTRAY.

If you want to follow your heart, be sure that the reigns are attached from the brain - and vice versa. Sometimes letting only one of the two lead on its own would prove to be your very own undoing. In deciding to let only logic steer, devoid of any compassion, might leave you alone and empty in the end of the journey. But likewise, leaving only the heart to hold the reigns will leave you vulnerable to life’s road bandits.

So, balance is the key. By using the brain and the heart to determine one’s course in life will help you reach the end of an interesting, safe and meaningful journey…

(I don't know if this made sense to you. Just have a good day anyway!)

Never will your heart lead you astray, but the people and the world may change around you and may disappoint your heart. In the end you will understand that what may seem a mislead becomes an experience to treasure that your heart needed and sought for growth, for love, for life.

Hi!

That would depend on whether you are following "hope" or '"faith"... Hope is like a form of gambling, because when you hope for something, you know deep in your core that the odds are against you, and only vicarious luck, chance, or fickle fortune *may* get you what you wish. Even if you beat the odds, hope very often sets one up for expectations that are too high or too off mark, so one is always left with an incurable sense of dissatisfaction. With faith, one is driven by a conviction that does not leave room for exception or doubt, so the chances that you will achieve your desired goal are very high, if not guaranteed. Faith abides and expects nothing, so faith is often rewarded with a better outcome that originally aimed for. Finally, in the worst of times, when you've lost your way emotionally or spiritually, faith will always and unerringly lead you to higher ground. People too often hope, and too rarely invest themselves into an act of faith, yet it is the latter that will never lead you astray.

Yes...the heart wants what it wants. It isn't always rational, its very passionate, and it may not want the right thing as oppose to what feels good at that time.

Its a wonderful feeling following your heart, but it can sometimes lead you astray causing it to break.

If love is blind, then the heart has no eyes. Following the blind will surely lead you astray eventually.

Ok, I guess it is official. I joined Enki's Division.

Sorry, that is an astronomy pun. You might have heard of the Encke Division in Saturn's rings.

Balance is the key. If you follow only your heart, you will end up making very illogical decisions which you may regret for life. And if you only follow your head, you'll just end up being a very cold person.

Think things over a thousand times and find at least some very good reasons before you follow what's in your heart.
