I tend to measure time by the rotation of the earth about its axis. I call this period of rotation a *day*
I also use a measurement based on the movement of the earth around the sun. I call this period a *year*.
I am 46 *years* old

as far as I am aware - for some strange reason - animal behaviour shows a tendency to use the same periods of time that I use.

We invented clocks, they really have have nothing to do with time, they help us regulate our days, it's nice to know when we have to go home for dinner. We call the time span of the Earth's revolution around the sun one year, so it's quite easy to state your age in these units. Before the big bang there was no time or space, with the creation of matter, from the energy of the big bang, there was movement of the matter, this was the beginning of time which is merely an interval between events, if there are no events there can be no time.

You are right! I invented time. Since time is a phenomena connected to the physical universe and since it doesn't exist outside of the physical universe, I also invented the physical universe!

Absolutely right. A lifespan is about 2 billion heartbeats. Since an elephant's heart rate is hundreds of times slower than a pygmy shrew's it has a longer life span, but to the animal it feels the same. A sort of biological theory of relativity.
