No you don't want to do that nor do you need to do that. Most of your Windex you buy at the store, in addition to the cleaning chemicals it contains, has ammonia in there, and you don't want that in your tank, nor do you need it. When you are cleaning the inside of your tank, a simple non used sponge is just fine, or have a dedicated sponge you use just for your tank. The chemicals in cleaning agents are very lethal and harmful to fish. And it's really not necessary to use chemicals to keep the tank insides clean.

Sure...better yet, just pour the Windex into the aquarium and let the fish clean the inside of the tank. Don't forget to put a couple of paper towels in there too...

I wouldn't, not even the outside. Windex contains several chemicals (including ammonia ) that are harmful or deadly to your fish.
A better solution would be one of the available aquarium glass clears on the market such as Seri-clean. You can also simply wet the outside of the glass and wipe it well with a clean soft cloth to get most water spots off the glass.

No, not the inside.. it will end up killing any fish you put in. Just use plain water.
Windex is fine to use on the outside of the aquarium, however.

WORONG WRONG WRONG. I used to repair LCD and DLP televisions for a living, and I can tell you that Windex will RUIN your LCD screen. Windex, and other glass cleaners, contain ammonia. You may not notice it the first time you use Windex but, if you keep doing this it, *WILL* eventually destroy the screen. In fact, I've replaced SEVERAL notebook screens and LCD television screens which were ruined by customers in exactly this same way. In my former job we used to clean up the screens for the customer as a courtesy after we fixed them. We used Monster Screenclean for this purpose. If it's good enough for professionals then it's good enough for you, too :)

NO. windex has chemicals in it that are harmful to your fish.
Use a liquid dish soap (in an emply tank, of course) like dawn (you only need a drop or two) and make sure that you rinse it really really well when done. A garden hose works well for this if it's a large tank. Dish soap works well because it leaves no residue or chemicals behind.

No the chemicals involved in the windex will harm your fish.....use regular water and make sure to get all of the dirt out.....that goes for other parts of a fish tank NEVER USE ANY TYPE OF CLEANING PRODUCT INVOLVED WITH FISH TANKS!!!! Pet stores should have special cleaning products for fish tanks

NOO!!! Do not clean the inside with Windex, as it will kill the fish. Cleaning the outside is perfectly all right.

No, do not do that. No matter how well you try to rinse it off and wash it off, it will leave chemicals on there that will kill your fish.
Do a google search on aquarium maintenance, and you'll find some better solutions to cleaning the stuff off the inside of your tank with.

nope -- it will clean just fine if you use paper towels or a sponge made for aquariums -- the sponges at the store have chemicals in them that you don't want in with your fish.
