Solid state media is electronic storage without any moving parts. Flash memory is a good example.

CDs and DVDs are not solid state as they require moving parts to read the media.

A list of solid state media is avaliable here:

Solid storage media can simply be called storage media. It is something that can hold your data without needing a continuous electrical charge.

DVD, CD, Zip Disc, Floopy Disc, Tape Reel, Cassette Tape, etc.

Technically, a sheet of paper can be considered solid storage media, because it is physically present and not dependant on electricity to exist.
