Bluetooth is an industrial specification for wireless personal area networks (PANs). Common applications are for keyboards/computer mouse/wireless head sets/hands free wireless in a car/cell phone to PDA networking.... the options are somewhat limitless.
The range is about 20-30 foot diameter.
