This is kind of silly, but maybe some cotton pajamas that have an asian ("china") feel to them?
It would be a funny gift to give. You could pair it with a dinner you cook and serve on your finest china, and write him a letter about the last two years of your life... all the changes, happy times, how you and he have grown together and growth closer to each other.

My husband was really digging on those white square plates that are all over the magazines and Food Network. I got him a set of 8 from Crate & Barrel, and a new pair of cargo pants for work.
OK, not creative, but it's what he wanted. Maybe a nice funny poem to tie two random things together?
