Hi all I am trying to go wireless on my mac book pro and have no idea where to start - I was under the assumption it would magically configure itself?

Please help - and thanks

Open System Preferences from the Apple Menu.

Open Network under Internet & Network.

Open Airport Settings.

Change the setting for By default join to Preferred networks.

Click the + button to add a preferred network.

Enter your Network Name

Press the OK button.

Press the Apply Now button and enter your Mac's password if asked.

After your Airport Card connects to the network,

You go to the little Airport symbol in the menubar (the one that looks like a bunch of ripples going out in a fan shape), and turn Airport on. If you're using a router that isn't something easily accessable by an Airport ready computer, try looking on their forums or contact their customer support to see how you can access your router wirelessly with your Airport ready Macbook Pro. see the wireless icon in the top bar @ the right ? click that and click turn airport on, then it should find any available wireless network and ask u to connect to it.
