Don't intolerant people know that the more intolerant the society is of gays, the more likely gays will continue to be among them? (supposing it's true that homosexuality is at least PARTLY due to genes)

What I'm saying is that if homosexuality is at least partly due to genetics, intolerant societies would be more likely to continue having more gays. Because intoloerant societies force gays to "cover it up" by getting opposite sex spouses and procreating. Tolerant societies would allow gays to live as the wish, usually involving less procreating (genetic procreation - not adoption etc.) Therefore, fewer "gay" genes get passed to the next generation. Ironic that the intolerant societies are contributing to their own uncomfortable situation. Ironic as in hahaha, funny ironic.

nycguy10002: I think he means that the more intolerant society is, the more likely homosexuals will feel pressured to pretend to be straight and lead straight lives and hence, procreate and pass their genes on.
Back to the question. I think this may follow in some cases but the impact of intolerance on gays reproducing won't be that big. For example, some gays may just simply choose to be as secretive as possible or stay single. Even if they do get married to a member of the opposite sex, they might not want to have children. So there are many ifs with regards to this. It's a matter of choice.

who's to declare which genes are ineffective? We infrequently comprehend something approximately Nature and with the little expertise we do have, we attempt to make huge greenbacks. Homosexuality would not in easy terms take place with human beings, that is been observed in many greater stronger species (interior the "genuine nature" in an attempt to speak). In earlier days whilst tribes and massive families have been the guideline and no the exception the gay inhabitants used to undertake offspring, because of the fact that they don't reproduce, subsequently ensuring the subsequent technology a much bigger danger of survival. And by utilizing the by utilizing. Who says homosexuals do not reproduce. merely because of the fact a gay guy has not the urge to sleep with a female, would not end that he can not do it.

yes, there are studies that it could be partly genetic but its also partially caused by your environment--how you grew up, what you went through, what love you were given or shown, how your parents acted. studies have also shown in the adolescent years that sometimes kids do the opposite of what there parents want or think as a type of rebellious stage or something--not saying they just go out and say 'hey lets be gay today!', sometimes its involuntary. also, some peopel say homosexuality is a choice, others dont, im not saying it is or isnt.

Homosexuals will always be here. Studies show that even in wild life homosexuality is present. I wouldn't be surprised if it is a genetic thing.

there has been no irrefutable proof that being gay is genetic. However the presence of more than 10,000 exgays in the uSA is a good indicator that it is indeed a CHOICE.
