I think people do this primarily to feed their own idea that their opinon matters somewhere.
The points themselves arent that great, but the different levels are kind of neat. And of course you have to get points to get to the next levels.
I personally just like to put in my two cents, lol.
Points are just extra.

I'm not going to say I don't care about points, because I do. Not because I want to have highest or anything, but because it means that somebody has listened, respected and understood my answer.
I love writing down my thoughts and to know, that it has been of some use to somebody else, makes me happy.
I don't EXPECT points - but when I do get them, its a bit like a confidence boost for me. Then I know I haven't been talking complete rubbish!
I love giving them away too. When somebody has taken the time to think and reply well to one of my questions - I feel the least I can do is show them my gratitude with 10 points!
But at the end of the day,
YA isn't a game. Its simply a place to be heard,
to share your opinion...To learn new things!

I'm not really bothered by them! I like it when I get a best answer but I think its more my sense of pride that people liked my answer that i like than the ten points. I'm really just on here to have some fun and to pass the time!

I enjoy the experience of being on here but I do try to keep up with my daily and weekly quota.
100 points a day
700 per week (obviously)

No.at first they did.but when you get to level 5 it takes what seems like an ice age to get to the next level so racking up the points is about as much fun as watching paint dry
