Just wondering, when did your husbands start going to the OBGYN with you? Was it just when you were going to find out the sex of the baby or when you were going to hear the heartbeat?

Whenever he wants, basically.

It's up to you, and him, and your doctor.

Some partners go all the time, every time. Some never go at all.

My husband works from home, so he is able to go to each visit. But if your husband's job is demanding, I would suggest he save his leave for later in the pregnancy because the visits get more interestesting as time goes on.

And by the way, the doctor listens to the heartbeat at every visit.

Your husband can go to any and as many appointments with you...my fiance went to every single appointment with me....but if yours can't make it to all....I would say one of the funnest ones to be at is finding out the sex of your baby....if he doesnt make it to hear the heartbeat...you can buy a little device at wal-mart and probably many other places..and its very inexpensive...that he can hear the heartbeat on at home...that way if he can't make it to those appts he can at least still feel part of it by being able to hear the heartbeat at home...but he can go whenever he is able to....

My husband has been to every appointment with me except for the 3 hour glucose test I had to take after I failed the one hour... It was just going to be a long day and I didn't think he needed to sit there and be as bored as I was! Other than that he's been to all of them. He loves going and seeing the baby for ultrasounds and hearing his heartbeat with the doppler at the appointments. Your partner can go with you as much or as little as he (and you ) like.

My husband went to my very first appointment. It was really funny. I had a pelvic exam and a pap done. When the midwife pulled the sturrips out my husbands face turned pale and he said I'll step out. The midwife said "Oh no you don't, you helped and now your going to watch. It'll be good for you!" I was dying laughing! She made him stay there! After the appointment he said that he didn't want to see that again. I told him next time it was alright for him to step outta the room! Sorry, I just think it's funny! But he's gone to every appointment before he got deployed! Good luck and congrats!

My husband went to almost every appointment with me. I think it is nice for the husband to be involved like that. But if your husband's schedual does not allow him to be there every time, make sure he is there for the first visit, the ultrasound and then for the visits in the last 2 weeks or so. those are usually the most "exciting" ones!

Except for the first visit, both times that I was pregnant, this time and the first time, my husband has gone to every appointment with me. And they check the heartbeat at every visit. At least my doctor does.

Than can go to all the appointments, but as for mine, he would have to take off, so he is going with me on July 24, because we are going to to find out what we are having. He will more than likely got a some of them once I get close to time to deliver.

With my first pregnancy my husband was at every appointment and if he couldn't be my mom came with me. I'm 32 weeks pregnant will be 33 tomorrow and I have gone to most of them by myself. He has been able to attend all the ultra sounds but 1 and I have had 4 with this pregnancy but my mother was able to attend with me.

Your husband can be there whenever you want him there. No limits are placed on the Dads, sometimes the Doctor might ask him if he wants to step out while a pelvic exam is done, but usually they can stay for that as long as you are comfortable with it.Let Dad experience ALL he can doctor visits included,it helps it feel more real to them.
