Why in Gutenberg's name are you editing a book in a foreign language if it hasn't first been produced in a native one?

I know several authors who have been published first in English, then are now on track to have them translated into other languages by other publishers. No cost to authors whatsoever!

Methinks you and/or your friend is putting the cart before the horse on this one. Need to regroup, eh? Good luck!

It depends on who you have do it and where it is done, and what language or country is involved and the wage system there. Usually in the USA it is done by the hour although if it is a good writer with few errors, then it might be done by the book. You can expect somewhere around a couple dollars per page, depending on the number of errors and the quality of the editor.
