I haven't been very many places and I've never even left the U.S., however my favorite place of all time was Key West. Everyone was relaxed and all they did was party. Not to mention it is absolutely beautiful down there!!!

North Eastern Part of Australia, especially the areas around the port city of Cairns. On the ocean side, an hour's boat ride will have you diving off of the Great barrier reef (Another awesome place!), which is truly an experience. I never knew you could swim with the fish so close. On the coastal side, an hour's worth of a bus ride and cable car trip will get you sent to a totally different environment (And I am talking some major climate changes here!) called, "The Kuranda Rain Forest." There is this touristy village right in the middle of an extremely well protected rain forest. You could spend the whole day there and not get tired of this amazing place. The scenery is truly breathtaking, beside the drastic climate change. And they have a lot of things there to keep you busy up there. It truly is beautiful.

My family and I were lucky enough to go there for a vacation a few years ago. I will never forget this trip. Actually, I think all of Australia is an amazing place in itself.

Personally, the most interesting place I have ever visited was the Mayan ruins of Copan in central Honduras. This was an advanced society in mathematics, art, astronomy and monument construction. They built fabulous stone structures, yet had not invented the wheel; these structures are adorned with incredible carvings, yet they had no stone tools! The most interesting facet of this civilization is the current theory of what led to their demise...their stone structures were found to be coated with huge amounts of plaster, which required massive amounts of charcoal (from burning trees) to make. Archaeologists believe that widespread deforestation of the surrounding countryside led to tremendous topsoil losses. Eventually there was a societal collapse due to the inability to grow sufficient crops. Hopefully, our "advanced" civilization can learn something from this story.

Napa Valley. The weather any time of year is gorgeous, the food and wine is incredible, the views are beautiful, the shopping is great, it's so relaxed, and my extended family is here. It's a short drive into SF. I've loved it so much over the years that I moved here!
