As long as it is just a little spotty discharge...you should be fine. It could be implantation bleeding that usually happens about 2 weeks in. The pain can also be normal, again implantation, some women are more effected by it than others, because everyone feels pain in a different way. I would be worried if the blood becomes bright red, increases in amount, or you start to get bad cramps...that could signal a miscarriage. If you are really concerned...the only way to truly put yourself at ease is to call your doctor.
Good Luck

"If it was a miscarriage your bleeding would be exceptionally heavy...with more than just short pain" = not true.
On one hand -- call your doctor asap! -- but, on the other, if it is a miscarriage, there's absolutely nothing to be done about it.
I'm about your age and had a wee bit of bleeding the first time I was pregnant; I miscarried. I'm currently 33wks and everything's great, but I, again, had some bleeding early on. It can be normal, it can be a sign of something terrible -- not really reassuring, I know.
If I'd bled twice, I'd be wanting an ultrasound as quickly as possible. I hope everything works out well for you.

Hi Susana,
It sounds like the embryo just implanted. That could be the cause of the discomfort and light bleeding. Still, to err on the side of caution, I would make an appointment with your doctor. When it comes to pregnancies and children, I never take chances.
P.S. The above happened to me, so that's why I am relaying what info. I have to you. Best of luck!

Sometimes you can have light bleeding/discharge like in the beginning and cramping too so long as it isnt severe. Your body is changing and preparing to carry this baby for 40 weeks. I wouldnt call the dr since your appt is so close unless you are bleeding bright red blood or very heavy. Good luck

Hi, Susana- I think you should move your doctor appointment up as soon as possible. It's probably not a big deal- I've heard of lots of women spotting during pregnancy, but it wouldn't hurt to get it checked out before it becomes anything serious. It sounds like you really want this baby, so you should do all you can to make sure it is all going normally for you.

From what you have described, this is not much to worry about, but do call your OB and let them know. It could just be simple irritation from intercourse. The first time, it could have simply been implantation bleeding. Sometimes the body also thinks "ummm, isn't it time for my period? and then it tries but the other hormones stop it.
Remember your OB is there to answer your concerns and questions no matter how small or insignificant you might think they are. IF you OB thinks otherwise, than find a new OB who will take the time with you. Mid-wives are great for compassion and answering questions. This might be another option for you.

If you have any bleeding and pain it is not normal, what you should do is call your doctor let them know what you are filling
try to get some rest take sometime off work sometimes for women over 30 the pregnancy can be more risky and dangerous, just try to get some bed rest and don't over do it
but remember when ever you fill Payne and spotting let your doctor know because you can have a miss carage. take care.

It could have been implantation bleeding but Call your doctor... The first trimester is a critical time for you and your baby. If you are experiencing any pain or bleeding, you should DEFINITELY be calling your doctor! Better safe than sorry. We are not professionals!! Good luck!!

You should definitely call you OBGYN immediately. My wife had some very light spotting that they detected with an ultrasound to be harmless and normal. This could be a serious issue though, and only a doctor can tell you for certain. good luck and congratulations!
