And this comes as a surprise to you ? I hope not. This is the same jerk who, after the Hurricane Katrina disaster happened and the Congress tried to free up funds to send to LA, REFUSED to release the funds he had secured for the bridge to nowhere!!!! Good I hope the Feds find something incriminating on him.
While I have no problem acknowledging William Jefferson with the 90K in cold hard cash in his freezer,( I think he is corrupt and while the Dems tried to get rid of him from the comittees and from Congress altogether by putting up opponents against him last Nov, alas they lost), the majority of the corruption cases that had been opened by the Dept of Justice to try and take down Dems have instead turned up dirt on Republicans such as
John Dolittle-R - still under investigation- US Attorney in charge at the time investigation started Carol Lam (fired)
Randy Duke Cunningham-R- convicted-US Attorney in charge at the time- Carol Lam( fired)
Rep. Rick Renzi, R-still under investigation-U.S. Attorney in charge at the time investigation started Paul Charlton(fired)
Jerry Lewis -R-still under investigation-US Attorney in charge at the time investigation started - Carol Lam( fired)
Timothy F. Murphy -R-still under investigation
Gary G. Miller-R stilll under investigation-US Attorney in charge at the time investigation started Carol Lam( fired)
Bob Ney-R- convicted
Tom Delay-R indicted, not tried yet, still under investigation
Gov. Rick Gibbons -R under investigation-US Attorney in charge at the time investigation started -Daniel Bogden ( fired)
Curt Weldon-R-under investigation
Jim Kolbe-R- under investigation-U.S. Attorney in charge at the time investigation started Paul Charlton(fired)
