Never be afraid to get a second opinion when it comes to anything medical. Go to a completely different doctor, not one within your doctor's practice. You are perfectly within your rights to want a second opinion. This is your health and life, and your child's health and life that are at stake here. It's OK to want more information.

You should be able to trust your dr. but a mothers intution is usually right. There weight could be off. At 35 weeks the baby being on 5lbs isnt that small to me. Some baby's are only born weighing 6lbs and sometimes less than that and are perfectly healthy and normal. I would question why the induction if the baby needs to grow more. If you feel you dont trust what the dr is saying or he is holding back info maybe you should contact your insurance company and see if they would cover a second opinion. You are the best judgment of yourself and you should trust your own judgment. After all this is your baby and you are it's biggest protector...

I went for an ultrasound yesterday and I'm 32 weeks will be 33 tomorrow and they told me that she is measuring 35 weeks and she was 5 Ibs 3 oz. They told me she was a bit on the big side. If you are uncomfortable with the answer that your doctor is giving you I would seek a second opinion.
