Yes, I would shoulder my share of the responsibility and care for the child entirely on my own if needed. However, I am not against a woman having an abortion. I just won't have sex with a woman who would want to abort if we got pregnant.

If you got a woman pregnant, would you shoulder your share of the responsibility?
Yes
Not just financially either, would you either marry the woman, live with her or at least move close to her so you could care for the child half of the time?
Yes
Would you care for the child on your own to prevent her from having an abortion?
Yes

Absolutely I would take responsibility, and yes, marriage would be my choise, and I would hope I was careful enough in knowing my partner that she would want the same thing. I would certainly want to be a part of the child's life, not just a person who writes a monthly check.
btw, I am a fence sitter on abortion. I believe it is wrong, but since I cannot carry a child, and all that comes with it, I would feel a bit at a loss to judge someone who might find themselves in that situation.
My take is, sex should be used for creation and intimacy sharing in marriage, not for recreation outside of marriage. Yes, extra marital sex has been around for as long as marriage, but accepting that situation has made it worse than it ever was

First of all, I practiced abstinence before I was married, so it was never an issue.
Second, you left out a wonderful option - adoption. There are many great couples out there who are emotionally and financially stable who for whatever reason are unable to have children. They would provide a great home for them.
I think men need to start stepping up. Too many children grow up today without fathers, and they end up in jail, or getting pregnant themselves, and the cycle continues.
However, it is kind of ironic how a woman can choose to have an abortion without the father's consent, yet if she decides to have the child, he is forced to pay child-support. Then again, it is sad that men have to be forced to pay child support...
Personally, I think abortion should be available for certain cases - rape, incest, or if the health of the mother is in danger.
However, it is not right for a woman to kill her baby because she wanted a quick thrill. Be responsible.

I did get a woman pregnant. That was 10 years ago.
Today we are happily married, 10 years now...with a 9 year old daughter and a 7 year old daughter.
To be fair, we were ready for marriage though...and as far as I remember, abortion never came up. Although I would never approve of abortion though in our situation.
I do think abortion should be a legal and viable alternative in cases of rape, incest, and severe deformities in the fetus.
peace.

If I got a woman pregnant (which I don't intend to do until I get married. If I get married) then yes, I would at least ask her to marry me. And even if she said no, I would help support the child financially and as a father. And if she didn't want it, I would take it and raise it myself. I can't stand seeing any innocent life wasted (especially through abortion) especially not if I am partly responsible for bringing it into the world.

That's a tough question. I've had one night stands in my life and I would hate to think that I would have to see this woman for the next 18 years. But, on the other hand, I'm against abortion. I hate to say it, but I don't think I would marry her and if the courts and dna tests proved it was mine, then I would do what I had to do legally. If it was a woman I loved, then I would marry her and be fine with everything.

Why don't people just stop having unwanted babies? There is absouluty no reason today to get pregnant if you don't want a baby, none! There is birth control for every kind of woman. And then there are those women who decide to have babies knowing full well the man doesn't want one. Why are people sympathetic with these kind of women who choose to go ahead anyways with the attitude their baby doesn't need a daddy?! Until the bills come in. We don't need abortion, we need responsible adults!!!!!!

I would not even think of "getting a woman pregnant."
My wife and I have children. We love them and care for them. We never thought of sex other than as a gift between husband and wife, with the added blessing of bringing children into the world.
"getting pregnant", or in today's popular movie culture of getting "knocked up" is a path that some people take who do not even think of their responsibility before they take their jollies.
As for your question, why do you think only the "men" have the responsibility for "getting a woman pregnant?"
Do you travel in circles in which people think that sex is done the way dogs and cats do?
ADDITION: Short Bus...this is a new low...

This is a character question. A man of character would do the right thing, stay with the woman, support her and the child financially, and raise the child with a father in the house.
Someone lacking character wouldn't do that.
