Why have men always been superior?

Take a look at society-the world`s greatest scientists, musicians, artists, philosophers, and notorious leaders have all been men.
The artisits: Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Picasso, Monet, Van Gogh...
The scientists and philosophers: Einstein, Homer, Socrates...
Leaders/politicians: Hitler, Stalin, Egypt`s pharaohs, every president of the US..
The world has always been dominated by men and men have always made the most significant accomplishments. Sure, there have been women like Marie Curie and you could probably name a lot others, but the most famous names that stick out are always of males.
What is it about men that makes them so overriding? It`s a scientific fact that the average woman has more intelligence than three average men put together.

Is testosterone a factor? Is it some biological characteristic that all men have, such as the way a man`s brain is wired? I know that testosterone is connected with a better understanding of math and science, but still.
Why men ???

Alright, ever since this question was posted I have heard a lot of **** regarding the status of women and I am SICK OF IT!!! I`m sorry that I ever asked this question because there are too many bitches out there who don`t know how to convey a decent opinion. Why don`t you people just shut the hell up and stop wasting my time??

I have written a book on this subject, It is called One Law, it shows that what man fears most is that his genes will not be attractive to the female, so he is out to try to show the ladies just how valuable his, particular genes are, in a normal evolutionry journey this is fine, but humanity has been taken over by the patriarchy and through that event a series of negative idiosynctratic cultural perversions have occured, our modern religions are a direct result of this, it can be called the pharoah syndrome, this phenomenom has been the cause of so many wars and so much suffering, as the male ego gets in the way of the intellect, man relates himself to god but not woman to god. I am at the very beginning of trying to evolve humanity out of its present paradigm, which is called the weapon culture, It is not a scientific fact that women have three times more intelligence of man, but she is the socialising mammalian, and thus must be allowed her freedom to feel safe from men, so that she is secure when she has children so that her children are brought up with kind nurturing, the most intelligent thing a man can do is never abuse in any way women, never abuse them sexually, do not be kidded by what are the accumulation of technoligical improvements, it is only when the beast in man is tamed and all women feel safe, can we then say men are as wise as women, when men are as wise as women we will have reached the first step to neo civilisation

1. They're already not superior. 2. Human beings cannot be measured and compared on a basis of quality. 3. Any seeming superiority (re the answerer who pointed out that men earn more, most leaders are men and that the top 10 rich people are men) is an effect produced by a bias in society towards men. For example a man and woman doing the same job with the same competence won't be earning the same - the female will earn less. This is because women have been repressed by society for centuries, and there has only been education for all women in the last century. 4. Since women have been educated to the same level as men, they have consistently outperformed them. 5. The fastest runner may be a man (they are physically stronger) but the fastest female runner can run faster than most men. Those who excel do so because of who they are, not their gender. 6. Men need women (as mothers, partners, sisters, etc) just as women need men. And I hope it's clear, I don't believe women to be superior. The genders are equal and if you really believe one person is better than another it will be because of their abilities and achievements, not because of a disctinction in their genitalia.

It's not superiority, dear, it's opportunity. For most of history, women simply weren't allowed to pursue leadership, academics, science, etc. They were busy running things so that men could go out and do it. Who do you think fed these guys, washed their clothes, swept their floors, and raised their children?

Do you think men could have done those things if they had to manage their own households?

Heck, my husband makes a lot more money than me, but he hasn't any clue what there is in the house to feed the children, or how many clean pairs of underpants he has left. I make less money but I'm a better manager than he is. And I have a higher IQ, btw. And I'm vastly more well-read. But my energies are on maintaining the larger picture whereas he can focus on working, so he gets paid more.

Remember, throughout history, 'Anonymous' was a woman.

Look back at History for a moment. Through most of it, women had very little say in things. That is why inside a Math book women scientists / mathematicians wont be mentioned until your book reaches its early 1900's section.

It's not to say women couldn't have written the 9th Symphony, but back then even if someone had the talent, it would not have been recognized much.

Men tend to have superior muscular strength and more agressive tendencies. Yes, that's the testosterone. But i think that's where the superiority ends.

The male dominance that marks the vast majority of cultures is probably a side effect of aggressiveness. And due to their domination, men get to write the history books, which feeds into the appearance of male superiority--a psychological angle. Once men get women to believe that they are inferior, they can keep them that way. Men also get to write the holy books, giving them another avenue by which to oppress women.

Men's and Women's brains tend to be wired differently, but i don't think one is superior to the other--just different. And the tendencies are just that: tendencies. When we learn how the other side thinks, we both benefit. (I once avoided getting lost, by becoming aware of the differences in the ways men and women give directions.)

Well it all started back in caveman days when the strongest survived since men were the strongest they ruled everything, that carried on for 1000s of years and men were continued to be allowed to learn and develop while womans rights were limited. So that really continued until women started to get more rights in society and were allowed to vote and learn. So really all the major technological and societal advancements that you learn about happened over 1000's of years, so really everyone you read about and learn about was over that span, women really didn't start making a difference in society until they were given the right to America. So you only learn about maybe 100 years worth of womans history and 10,000+ years of mens.

I fully believe that there is no way that women are smarter than men, I think that it is all in the way that you are raised and taught. THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL THAT WOMAN ARE SMARTER THAN THREE AVG MEN PUT TOGETHER, that is just retarded. I have never MET a woman personally that could outsmart me. Now don't take that wrong Im not underminding women, im just saying there is no way that the avg. woman is smarter. Maybe I just meet idiot women, but even in college there really wasn't any women that i would say damn shes too smart for me. I just think that women have better study ethics than men in college hence why they tend to outsmart us in upper education.

Good Question, but you could totally write a book about this.

If women are truely smarter than men, than that intelligence is way wasted on them, because most girls i know couldn't even tell you what the capital of most states and countries are, anything about the constitution, anything about the history of our country, or anything about academics. I prove this constantly by asking the women I know simple trivia, the men punish the women every time.

Now i know Im no where near the smartest but cmon women should know this stuff.

Well, when everyone was stupid, the only deciding factor was strength...because men were stronger than women, we could push them around and get the best jobs etc...

Its the same with other animals too...except when the females are bigger, they become the dominant gender. i.e Praying mantis....

Do some research (because i cant remember where i found it out) and you will see that in almost all species, the dominant sex is the one that is bigger!

Conclusion: Size matters.
