Is it to late to start sowing vegetables from seed in the soil now.
And if its not to late what are the best things to sow for crops this year.

Yes, it is too late to sow seed now. However, if you really want to sow seed then you can plant cool weather plants like peas and lettuce in the fall. September is usually the best time for a fall harvest. You also don't have to use seed. Your garden stores should have nice herb and veggie plants ready to go in the ground. It might not be too late for them. You'll just harvest them a little later.

Depends really on what zone you're in.
Try fast growing things like squashes. Full sun.
You can also plant lettuces, radishes, and cilantro anytime. They all take only a few weeks to mature. I sow them continually about every 3 weeks throughout the summer. Sow the lettuce in a place that only gets a 2-3 hours of sun a day, as it will bolt and be bitter in hot weather and full sun.
You could also seed carrots now. They take awhile to germinate (up to 3 weeks), but their growing will take off as the weather cools in the fall, and you can dig the carrots in late october/early november. They like really well-drained soil, and full sun.
You could also plant corn. It'll be nearly a month behind most of the corn around you (if the corn where you live is planted at the same time it's planted around here), so you'll be harvesting probably closer to Sepember rather than August. But it should work fine. Full sun.
I live in zone 5/6. I will be sowing broccoil seed in another couple weeks, to plant out in mid-august - they like the cool fall weather, so as the rest of the garden is finishing up, I've got broccoli maturing Ocotber and November!

It depends on where you live. As a reference, here in Indiana I will be safe planting as long as the maturity date is by mid September for summer crops. Find out the average date of your first frost and plan on a harvest 2 to 3 weeks before that to be safe. Right now you could direct seed squash and zuccini, beans, cuc's, etc. You can also plant tomatos and peppers. Look for the days to maturity on the package. Any that are heat tolerant and a 40 to 80 day maturity date should grow fine. Good luck.

It's June now and a bit late to sow seeds..best time is Feb or March for veg but you could grow a catch crop or try growbags.
