Ok you've heard all the pros and cons and they are all right but I have one other suggestion. If you find that you are financially unable to purchase a new one and can find a clean, unstained one from a good reputable second hand store, go to Walmart and buy a mattress cover. They have hypoallergentic covers which will help with previous dead skin and mites. Put mattress outside in sun for a day and when bring it in, put cover on. This should be fine until you can do better. Good luck!!!!

I have learned from my past experience. I am always on a very tight budget as well. I opted to buy a used mattress. Mattresses hold odors terribly. I bought what was once a very expensive mattress from a woman I worked with. I only had to pay $50 for it. Once I got it home, I realized why it was so inexpensive for me. Her husband was a chain smoker who was also on oxygen. The moisture from the oxygen gave it a musty smell in addition to the nasty, stale smoke smell. I left it outside on my porch for days, after I scrubbed with hot soapy water and soaked it with Downy. The smell went away temporarily, but after the Downy effects wore off, the nasty smell came back. So, my best advice to you would be not to buy a used one unless you know for a fact that the previous owners were very clean people. I'd make it a special point to try and go to their house to pick it up. If their house is not-so-clean, definitely change your mind and get out!!! Another thing to consider too is that if a person has roaches in their home, they love to hide in some of the tightest places. If the mattress has even the slightest little hole in it, it's like a welcome mat for those nasty little critters. I would steer completely clear of 2nd hand stores. Even if the person who donated the mattress is clean, nasty smells and bugs can be picked up from the store. One thing you may try is one of those inflatable mattresses found in the sporting goods section of Wal-mart. They really are comfortable and some are not very expensive at all when you compare them to the price of a good regular mattress. Good luck, and I pray your funds increase abundantly!
God Bless<><

EVERYONE PLEASE READ ITS GOOD TO KNOW AND ITS GOOD FOR YOUR HEALTH!
NO, NO NEVER buy or use a second hand mattress, theres so many bed bugs in there i mean there everywhere and always will be but y would you wanna lay in somebody Else's body soil and dead skin and bed bugs? there disgusting I'm getting grossed out just thinking about them, they feed on your dead skin, did you ever wounder y your mattress is light when its brand new and heavy when you try and move it later its because of all the dead bed bugs and their fesses it is nasty there bad for you ti breath in and there soooooo ugly there related to the flea, tick and spider and there on you all the time, in hotels they change the mattress every 3 months because of this its very bad to breath in and the only way you can stop them from producing and from being in your bed is to buy a BRAND NEW mattress then put plastic around the whole mattress buy that's not comfy so anyway your not even allowed to sell a mattress to someone else i wouldn't go but a new one!

OK if you don't mind sleeping on several pounds of powdered dead skin cells from the previous users. Also it is almost certainly full of mini creepy crawlies that would scare the shxt out of you if you saw them under a microscope. Simple answer is NO. When poor there are a few things that you don't use second hand like toothbrushes and toilet paper! Best of luck.

i think of that as long because it suits the crib top then it could be super. Our daughter infrequently used her crib mattress, we co-slept. So as quickly as we've a 2d toddler, we plan on utilizing an identical mattress, its virtually form new. i in my view do not see the could purchase yet another crib mattress because of the fact that we've already got one. i could comprehend if it have been broken down or flimsy from getting used lots, yet different than that, i in my view do not see a situation.

I personally think you should be patient and save your funds then get a brand new mattress because some mattresses will have stains on them that is uncleanable but its your choice and my opinion. so be safe.simple

yes and no. Just make sure it's been sterilized. Check the tag. By law a customer must be notified if it'sbeen sterilzed or not. you don't wnat to hear the horrow stories of non sterilized used matresses
