Honestly Hooters seems to me like an Applebees with waitresses in shorts.
I don't find the outfits sexy --- it does not even bother me that my BF goes with his basketball team because 90% are only so-so looking too and when you look around the place is full of desperate guys thrilled that some waitress is paid to flirt with them. I find it kind of funny and the food is greasy and overpriced. $9 for a hamburger.....
Most restaurants in San Francisco have sexier bartenders and waitresses working at night and its not all brightly lit like a Denny's!

I go because I am dragged there for after basketball game beers. I don't mind the guys having night out, in fact Hooters girls are less threatening than the hot girls at other places. Hence the pathetic.

They use appeal other then food to bring in customers. They market on men's hormones. It is a marketing strategy but a strategy like that is pretty pathetic. And they pay decent women minimum wage to wear short shorts and skirts to walk around and flirt. Mcdonalds BK and Wendy's arent even that low.

It kinda sounds like some that have answered secretly despise Hooters.
I personally get a kick out of it. The wings are good, but come on the guys don't go there for the food (bad/good/overpriced/whatever). I love to go with my bf because it is wonderful entertainment.
I can't explain why guys like Hooters, because you are right the girls are never that great looking and they most seem to have not such big "Hooters". Maybe it is just because it seems to be one of those places where they can escape us, girlfriends, for a bit to sit in the mecca of sports, beer, food and tight shorts.
I do have to hand it to the "Hooters" girl though to be able to have the confidence in herself to where that outfit, not so much the skimpiness of it as the tackiness.

I don't think Hooters is pathetic. The food is good and the beer is cold ! :) I have to agree with you, I think those girls dont' even look that great in the uniforms. They are to skimpy to look good. I think everyone is fully aware of Hooters and what it's like. If someone doesn't like it, then they shouldn't go there. It's not like the waitresses are doing anything other serving food.

Yes I do. First of all, I think the outfits are meant to be tacky, BUT I can't stand the scrunch socks.... this isn't 1986 anymore. Also, If I am going to a place called Hooters, I expect the waitresses to have some t!ts. It seems that I always have the biggest boobs in there.
And no, I don't want a job there. I work at a classy restaurant and make big bucks FULLY DRESSED. that outfit just seems demeaning to me and keeping you hair down is unsanitary.
And yes, their food SUCKS. I only go there if I have to and I only drink the beer!

I go to the Hooters in King of Prussia, PA and mostly all of the chicks are hot. Definitely a favorite of mine! I usually go in for a few beers and then if I'm lucky, I eat at the Y.

Pathetic isn't the word I'd use, but I know what you mean about the old men who go there looking for some attention (and not me, I'm only 31).
That said: Hooters has some excellent hot wings.

Why pathetic? After all, there are attractions in this world for everyone.
If you do not like it, then don't go there. If you significant other wants to take you there, just say no. What's the big deal.
It's not like it's a porno place.

Only the food is worse. I first went when someone else raved about their wings. Should have known better. OK wings, bad service. Tip, or lack there of, reflected it. I have seen better looking hookers.
