lets say time is controlled by the expanding of the universe(if it is) pulling everything including time along with it. if the universe collapses on its self, won't it pull time backwards along with it? i don't know much about this stuff so go easy on the big words.

And completely surrounding yourself with objects from the time you wish to travel to.

My personal opinion and understanding of certain theories is that time travel really means altering the speed with which time passes. Perhaps it could be possible to have 1 minute of time by your reckoning be 100 years for someone else. I do believe that time is related to the speed at which one travels through space. Be it on a planet, in a galaxy or within the universe. We are involved in a complex movement through space. Spinning on a planet that is circling a start in a solar system that is traveling within a galaxy which is shooting through space. I believe that this totality of movement is what establishes our time basis. I wonder if somehow one were to remain stable within the universe if time would cease to exist? All interesting stuff.

Time travel is impossible. If it were, certain quantum symmetries would be violated and the universe would decay.
