the babys head ,does that mean that the baby has engaged or i lost my mucus plug.. what does that mean? I am currently 37 weeks and 4 days pregnant

It just means that the baby has "dropped" and the head is engaged in the pelvis. This could mean labor is days away....or weeks away. It's different for every woman.

Also, if you have been carrying low throughout your pregnancy it would not be unusual to feel the baby's head more easily. It could be pressing against the mucus plug, and you would know when you had lost the plug. It's thick and stretchy.

In my pregnancies, my babies dropped weeks before I actually went into labor. For a long time, I felt like the head was "right there."

Ask your doctor.

If you lost your mucus plug you would know it. It's a pretty big glob of mucus.

What it most likely means is that he can feel the baby's head behind the cervix, and it might mean that it is in the proper location for delivery.

Did he say anything about whether you were effaced or dilated?

I am not sure what you circumstances are but with me the Dr. could feel the head the last month and a half. Not because I was close to labor or anything but because I am soooo small!! I had very little room and so the head was way down and the feet were way up in my ribs!!

No, they can just feel it cause the baby is head down. I lost my plug a month before my baby was due.
