I gather to mean 30 or 31 sundays which would be aprox 2/3 of a year, so what they are really saying is not in a long time from now. Yes it is a long way round and it doesnt make much sence, but hey it stops conversation being dull!

Maybe, just a pretend #, but probably 28-31 Sundays, 7-8 months

It means not for a very long time; or more literally, not for thirty Sundays or weeks. Thirty being the number of days in a month.

the Sunday refer ed to is not the day of the week but a Sunday as in ice cream sorry don't know the correct spelling

a sunday is triditionaly a slow day nothing to do,and a month of Sundays is a slow drawn out month.
