I`ll be 14 weeks tomorrow, the baby is actually about 3 days bigger then his age.. =]].. I had my integrated ultrasound on friday and the doctor asked if i wanted to know what he thought the baby was. He said, that he is almost 100% sure it is a boy, I`ve read you can tell this early with the right equiptment.. but I`m not sure if I should believe it yet. I asked about how girls usually stick out that early also, he said "yes they do, but not like this.." I know I saw two little balls and a little peepee sorry if thats TMI..lol. I had a feeling since I found out I was pregnant that it would be a boy...anyone else been told this early?

i was told that mine was, FOR SURE, a boy at 14 weeks, also.. i didnt believe it, cause it's what i wanted....... but im 23 weeks and it's still a boy, so im very happy, and hopefully you are, too.. but if you're not, it could always be wrong. some friends of mine thought they were having a boy until she was 37 weeks when they discovered........WHOOPS! it's a girl...... i guess this is not very normal, usually by 20 weeks they can tell, but to answer your question, it is a little soon, but if your doctor seemed certain, it is probably a boy.

As listed below, it would be very difficult to determine the sex at around 14 weeks. I believe the sex organs still look similar to each other. Your doc may be right...but it sounds to me like there is a 50/50 chance that he could also be wrong at this point.
Ultrasound
Ultrasound is usually the most common procedure used to determine a baby’s gender. Throughout pregnancy, it is likely that you’ll receive a few different ultrasounds. Ultrasounds between the 18th and 26th week of pregnancy are usually the most accurate when it comes to determining the sex of a fetus.
During your ultrasound, your health care practitioner will run a hand-held device over your abdomen. This device passes sound waves through your uterus, creating a picture of your fetus. This picture can then be analyzed for sex-specific characteristics, such as a penis or vagina. It is important to remember that ultrasound isn’t 100% accurate, though. The accuracy of ultrasound does depend upon the type of equipment used, the age and position of your baby, and the skill of your health care practitioner.

An ultrasound is not 100% accurate (esp. when done at 14 weeks instead of 19 weeks or later) but the odds are that you are having a boy.
It is true, though, that some doctors swore they saw "boy equipment" and it was actually something else (like the umbilibal) cord peeping out between the GIRL'S legs.
So don't rely totally on it! My sister and I have both had ultrasounds which were wrong about the sex of our babies.

They are never a 100% but he can be very skilled and has been doing that for 20yrs...but you should wait til 20 weeks to know for sure. Both of my kids came out to be what the tech told me. I have a boy and a girl!

Doctors are never 100% about this, but I don't think the doctor would have told you that unless he was sure about twhat he seen. If you don't believe him, you should have another ultrasound later on, and they will bwe able to tell you then.
