To me, the most important advantages are the developments in medicine. Millions of people died of diseases which today don't exist because of vaccination. Also, advances in technology allow us to communicate easily and swiftly with people all over the world.

a. convenience. most things are automated and run by machines (appliances, frozen dinners, ATM, production lines)
b. knowledge has become more accessible with internet technology
c. medical breakthroughs have made it less difficult when one gets sick
d. transportation advances have allowed people to travel and explore the world more than ever which, in turn, could produce more understanding and tolerance on the differences among peoples
e. the more complex societies have produced more alternatives for people ( for instance, there are more professions to choose from, more activities to spend time on)
