You can fluctuate 3-5lbs a week any week when you aren't pregnant. I wouldn't worry too much. Just make sure you are eating healthy and enough. Don't go overboard with the junk food, trust me! I ate what I wanted when I wanted it with my first pregnancy, and the stretchmarks I have from then are insane. All over my thighs, groin, belly. It's crazy, and it happened because of such fast weight gain in the end, and there wasn't any need of so much fat on my thighs and other areas of the body. Treat yourself, I'm not saying go crazy with the food. But keep active and make healthy choices for you and baby. Second pregnancy, I only had 4 of my previous stretchmarks on my belly get a little tiny bit longer, say 1cm longer. Currently 17wks pregnant, and I've gain 8or 9 lbs already. I gained 42lbs with pregnancy #1, and 47lbs with pregnancy #2, both were really too much, but I didn't 'diet' or exercise much. I would never suggest you 'diet' because your body and your baby need so much, but really you only need an extra 300 calories a day or so during pregnancy! Good luck and congrats!

It's normal to feel like you've gained 10 pounds in one week, but it isn't normal to actually gain 10 pounds in one week. You should gain about 25 pounds during the whole pregnancy. It is normal to be bloated at first. And some people never throw up, so that's normal too. If you haven't already seen your doctor you need to make an appointment ASAP. They will help you track your weight and give you lots of good tips on eating right during your pregnancy. Good luck to you.

It doesn't seem to be very *regular* but I gained 20 pounds before I even found out I was pregnant. Might be the change in your hormones, or if you had a slow metabolism or were an extremely light eater before it might be your body signaling to you, you need more nutrients. The crazy eating habits stopped for me at about 13 or 14 weeks and now i eat more like a normal human being.

i also didn't throw up until i was 20 weeks

Yes! You will gain weight steadily until your due date. I believe 30-50 lbs of weight gain is average. I gained 7 lbs one week. Don't worry about it. Just see your dr for regular prenatal exams and follow dr's advice about weight gain. All moms are different and dr's will advise you differently about your weight gain depending on your prepreg weight and other factors. I was underweight (according to my dr) before pregnancy & gained 40 lbs with both babies, then lost all of it. Also, I didn't have morning sickness with either baby (at least not a lot of throwing up). Just count your blessings & hope you don't get the morning sickness bad. Lots of moms get to skip the puking part. congrats on the pregnancy!

Yes, very normal. I gained roughly 12 lbs in the first trimester with both my kids (one of them, I thought I was just getting fat and didn't know until I was 12 weeks pregnant), nothing in the second and then gained the remainder weight in the last trimester. Sometimes everybody is different.

I did this, too, although most people apparently don't. It probably involves a lot of water weight. I was already having to wear my jeans unbuttoned in my second month of pregnancy. I got very big with both my boys, and people always asked me if I was having twins. But they were normal healthy kids and I just got bigger than most women.

Not everyone gets morning sickness and you may be one of the lucky ones. Of course sometimes it doesn't happen until you're a little farther along. My sister never felt better than when she was pregnant with her first two kids and never had morning sickness. With her third she did. I had terrible all-day sickness through my whole first pregnancy, then normal first trimester sickness with my second kid.

Yes, for some woment it happens.
They're very hungry in the first 2 weeks following conception (so before they can know they're pregnant).
This hunger is likely to slow down at the end of the first month. And hopefully you won't have to throw up. :o)

Congratulations, and enjoy!!
