Is anyone on medicaid? I ask this because I am..and I wanted to know I recently got married a little while ago. Can you be married and still receive medicaid..Or will I not be able to get it anymore even though I am pregnant again?

you have to let them know you were married and will take husband's income into consideration. income limits are pretty high for pregnant women. with verification of your expected delivery date, each unborn counts as an additional household member - which raises the income limits. if it's just you, husband, and 1 unborn child, your household size is 3. if you're carrying twins, then it would be 4. each person raises the limit higher.

if you don't let them know you are married, and your combined income is too high, you could have an overpayment written in which you'd be required to pay all the medical expenses back.

Marriage doesn't usually make a difference. It's the income. Let them know of the change, as you are required to. There are also different types of Medicaid that take different things into consideration. For instance, I am on Right from the Start Medicaid in Georgia, which was the only one I could get because I own my home.

You may not qualify for regular Medicaid since you are married. It will depend on what your income is now. But you will probably qualify for Medicaid if you are pregnant and have no insurance. The guidelines are higher. I have never qualified for medicaid except once when I was pregnant and had no insurance. Call the Medicaid office. If you are pregnant then most likely you will qualify. It will cover you until your 6 week postpartum checkup and it will cover the baby for 1 year.

It will simply be based on BOTh incomes now. But yes you can still get Medicaid. I am married and receive it, but due to disability I receive it NOT pregnant as well, just have a monthly "co-pay".

alot of times the government gives less benefits to a married woman.. all you have to do is sign up and wait they make acceptions.. but if you and your husband make money, enough to pay for medical costs they will decline you.. i have medicaid but my childs father left.. i had no choice because i was still in my 90 day probation period during my first trimester. Why doesnt your husband or yourself get insurance through work, it is important to have with a child

It is a based upon both income and what your utilities are. I know that even if you barley get by they wont give it to you if your married. I live in NJ so it could be different else where. but if me and my bf were to get married we would make too much. Since he makes $500 a week and i made $250

It depends on his income, weather u are covered on his insurance, if your working or get child support. the have to have all household income. You can be penalized if you dont report within 14 days..... but reporting is better then being turned in. Alot of married women are on medicaid, however since I am not on it I do not know the guidelines.

why not try birth control......................... Or get a job and pay for insurance yourself. Why should the government pay for you to keep having babies that you CANT afford to raise. Why do you blow money on such things as the internet, when it should be spent supporting your family. This is why we need welfare reform

You will get told not to tell im sure...... Which is fraud.... Its easier to get a free ride, but if you want tohave children, sometimes you have to sacrifice. I am a mother of soon to be 3, im divorced, he doesnt pay anything , and i support my children and I am not on welfare. It can be done if you want to .

I am on medi-cal. And I do know if you gotten married you must report to them within 10 days. And i'm sure you can still receive medicaid as long as your husband's insurance doesn't cover you!

It depends on both yours and your husbands income. If you don't work then I am pretty sure you will qualify for it. Just go to a Office and ask or fill out the application. Doesn't hurt to try.
