Procrastination is sloth; laziness. If it takes you ten years to get where you should have gotten in five, are you going to be satisfied with the way things are?
One thing I have done to defeat procrastination is making to-do lists. They are a visual way to detail how productive I have been over the day. When I don't have one, I do much less.
Plus, write out a list of goals and work a little bit every day toward achieving them. If each thing you do takes you one step closer to your dreams, how will you procrastinate?
I don't need to tell you that you've already missed out on many things as a result of procrastination. Why do it to yourself any longer? Get off your butt and take care of business and watch your life and relationships dramatically improve.

I am so bad about procrastinating. Usually I break a large task into smaller tasks and I can talk myself into doing a quick small task. Once I get started, I will usually finish the job up.

One method that is sometimes recommended is writing down a list of all the advantages of doing something that you have been procrastinating about doing. It's supposed to help motivate to do what you have to do.

Think about how stupid it is to put things off.
You ask this question like you really dont want to procrastinate anymore, however you are lying to yourself.
The reason you put things off is because you choose to do it.
If you truly wanted to be more productive, you would CHOOSE to be more productive. In otherwords, you control your own actions.
Quite simply, if you dont want to procrastinate anymore, STOP DOING IT! Its not like someone is holding a gun to your head making you lazy.

it is a matter of discipline. Impose upon yourself to do it and just do it. It is easier to procrastinate, but not productive nor self rewarding. Close your eyes, KidKurious, and tell yourself that it has to be done on such a date at such a time, period.
Best of luck. Smile and be happy!

Not sure but when you figure it out can you call my son and let him know?
Just kidding-just tell yourself that you HAVE to get this done RIGHT NOW. For example-cleaning the house-just say "Ok I am not going to be able to go anywhere or do anything until I get this house clean" Offer yourself some incentive when you complete a project. Work first, play later....good luck.

Force yourself to do things a little bit at a time. It helps if you actually schedule out when you're gonna work so it won't feel like an imposition on your free time. If that doesn't work, make consequences for yourself when you wait to the last minute.

If you decide that there is something you want to do, then just get up and do it now. You will be amazed to see how much more work gets done in less time, and how much better you feel afterwards. From personal experience, I can tell you that it works.
