I was bridesmaid in a bright red dress and was having the same worry. Then the bride got a girl in to do all our make up and she used shades of brown and that looked great, I too am pale skinned.

For night, the classic cat's eye look (thick black liquid liner swept across the top lid and flared out a little in the corner) and red lipstick (be sure to find a shade that complements your skintone/undertones,to look more Glamourous and less clownish or Goth). Think Marilyn Monroe or Christina Aguilera.

For day, just a little liner (pencil, all around eyes) and a sheer red lip stain or gloss(doesn't look as dramatic on pale skin).

Hi grey. silver eyeshadow or something really dark, sometimes darker the better with pale skin, some people might not think so but people with pale skin tend to carry of dark make up, so if you can also do the smokey eye effect if will look fab.

the 1st step: Line your eyes with dark brown liner, good and bottem. Step 2: Use a mauve shade eye shadow...a darker pink...on your lids from nook to nook. do not pass above the crease. Step 3: interior the crease persist with a bronze shade eyeshadow in a skinny line from nook to nook. Step 4: Fill interior the hollow from the crease on your eyebrown with a natual shade, a real easy gold could seem intense high quality. Use that shade to softly blend the different 2 jointly, additionally. Step 5: Use black mascarra on top and decrease lashes.

I would try smokey grey or go the other way and stay natural with creams on the top of the eyelid and beige or brown on the lower lid and loads of mascara or just have a girly night in with your mates and experiment with different shades till you find the right one good luck.

Eye shadow depends less on your clothes and more on your eye color and skin tone.

If you have paler skin and blue eyes, go for the greys/blues/navy blues.

If you have paler skin and green eyes, go for golds/tans/subtle green.

If you have paler skin and brown eyes, go for browns/light pinks/silvers.

The so-called "smoky eye" does NOT work for everyone, contrary to popular opinion, and really should not be done during the daytime. If you're going to an event at night, by all means try it. To do a subtle but effective smoky eye, just use more of the darker shades in your color bracket. (See above.) Hope this helps!

Usually if I wear a bold color, I like to go for a "look" with makeup. With red, I like to go for the "Old Hollywood Glamour" look, like the makeup on Marilyn Monroe. I would choose a neutral eyeshadow, like taupe, beige, or nude, top it off with a brown eyeliner on top lashes only, and add some black mascara on top and bottom lashes. Also, I would add either a red lipstick or red tinted lipgloss.

Charcoal, silver or greys. Blend them in to create a unique colour and add a bit of pink to brighten it!
