.......there are and always will be dark and murky corners in our society that are filled with cynicism, hate and ego.......

..........but that the massive amount of media and public support shows that we can outshine these murky holes with our compassion, empathy and most of all with our hearts....

.....and that the anti mcann mob and their like can forever lurk in their dark pockets of the world cynically ripping apart everything that people do but that that is where they will always remain.....in the dark shadowy corners.........outshone forever by the true human spirit.

Most of them would gladly have taken part in the seventeenth century Witchunts, the Russian Pogroms, the lynching of Negroes in the American deep south, and the McCarthy Witchunts of the late forties, if they had lived in those area's during those disgraceful times.

Ordinarily there would be just ONE issue, the whereabouts of Maddy and her safe return. Sadly, because the McCanns abandoned their children regularly without a babysitter, in an unlocked room, NOT visible or audible and of sufficient distance to be unable to intervene should one be abducted (QED) to go out for the evening eating and drinking and their blatant attempt to deflect blame by going OTT on this ridiculous World Tour and PLC nonsense we are faced with TWO Issues. The latter being the McCann's behaviour, which has been mendacious, deceitful, self-pitying, cold, mercenary and self-absorbed. It's a given we all want to see Maddy safely returned but attendant to that we have the strangest "parents" ever manipulating the media whose paper-selling concern is fast running dry and will turn to their culpability as quickly as you can prepare a daily inappropriate Blog.

Dude, (I'm assuming you're a dude), you'd better brace yourself...this q isn't going to go down lightly or well with certain people...
I personally think that this whole issue has been picked apart to it's barest bones.
The issue hasn't even been about Maddie for quite a while, it's become an exercise for people to boast about their 'excellent' parenting skills (amongst others), yet I have to wonder how many of these Über-parents find the time to sit on here the whole answering Questions, whilst 'their kids are never out of their sight'...
I also find it hard to comprehend that anyone can be sooo obsessed with this topic for sooo long.
There are things happening around us everyday, that affect us on a larger scale, there are things each of could be actively doing to change our environment to make things better. I'd think that energy could well be spent somewhere else. I would have thought that this case would have highlighted the issues and plight of missing children, of the sick members of our society that prey on opportunity and kids. Alas, somewhere, somehow we've become stuck on 'what the Mccanns did/didn't do next' drama...
There are people dying, starving, suffering on our front door steps, educations & health care is declining and THIS is what people getting worked up about?!
How does all this bickering to and fro help the cause? How does this help to find a little girl, that everyone claims to care about, that is possibly gone forever?

And maybe you can explain why it is OK to neglect your children at night, in an unlocked room. Or doesn't it count when you are on holiday?

This is nothing to do with hate or ego, it is because a child is missing through her parents neglect. If the McCanns hadn't been out every night of their 'family' holiday then this probably wouldn't have happened.

I have true human spirit and will always go a mile out for people in need, I am true to my friends and always there for them. I support charities and would like the world to be a better place. I agree that we should allow asylum seekers into this country that are fleeing hardship and persecution, but I will NEVER agree with child neglect and the obvious consequences of it.

Do you mean true human spirit or just living in blissful ignorance, leaving whatever goes on behind closed doors behind them? Have you never watched the news and heard about a child dying through neglect and wondered why the social services never got involved? Well I have and it has happened too many times, we have a public duty when there is blatant neglect going on that we should step in and make sure that it is stopped.

I don't mean automatically taking their remaining children away, more like teaching them to be better, more responsible parents.

I dont hate them, and Im not in a dark murky corner thank u very much.
I just think that when u have children they come first and its tough u cant go out for a nice evening meal with friends, because ur children deserve to be in a safe protected enviroment, not left in a hotel room being checked on every half and hour and the fact they were only 50 yards away is pointless because they never saw what happened. So they might as well have been 50 miles away.

Unfortunately you are somebody that doesnt understand debate and opposition...this is not some black and white right versus wrong this is a senseable debate albeit for a small minority of childishness about what we are seeing in the media..
do you really think that true human spirit is shone from the media as if the media has replaced god?
we need to be critical in order to progress and to understand or humanity would have ceased a long time ago....

I agree with snake eyes, a very valid point.

Madeleine's parents were wrong, we all know that, but they are not alone in leaving their children unattended.

I have seen it myself whilst on holiday 3 years ago on a Greek island popular with English tourists. Parents with children as young as Madeleine some even younger would leave the children in bed in the apartment unattended and go to the bar for the evening, if they checked on them it was once and only once, and to be honest after an hour or two they were not capable of checking on them.

Another group would let their children as young as 15 drink copious amounts of alcohol in their company, even to the point of the children becoming physically ill. They also paid no heed to the barman chatting up one of the girls (15) and in fact thought this was OK, quite astounding !.

So stop coming on here and saying, I would NEVER, I'm the BEST and I'm PERFECT, because some of us know different.

And before you say it, no they were not working class etc., as this was not a cheap off the shelf holiday.

People obtain alter ego's on holiday as they think no-one will see what they get up to.

So, take off my glasses and just look at yourselves.

You really do sound like the type of person i would happily be in a lifeboat with.
You sound compassionate, understanding and forgiving.
I have argued long and hard against what i have seen as the SOMTIMES offencive and nasty postings sometimes found on here about the McCanns.
That said, I am struggling to understand why they left their children in the way they did, I will never subscribe to slagging them off on here but some questions do need to be asked on events leading to the abduction of their child.
I think this is best done by the proper authorities not trial by mob justice.

I'm not sure about your planet with it's dark and murky corners but on earth ....my planet is very simple!
What the McCanns did it's child neglect. To leave kids all under 4 years old in a hotel room alone so the parents can go out to dinner and drinks at a bar is just negligible! I hope the media points this out so other parents learn from this tragedy. I'm sure you can come up with list of charges against the McCann's, don't get me wrong I feel their pain but what they did is just criminal.

Firstly, there is no "anti Mcann mob", maybe your conspiracy theories need a more realistic outlet. Secondly, no parent who leaves three children (oldest 3yrs) on their own just to eat out can claim to 'shine forever with the true human spirit' ,unless you mean Vodka!
Lastly, you should consider that the rest of us right minded parents are aware that the "dark and murky corners" are actually filled with paedophiles and abusers of children.
People who do their best for their children have the right to voice their opinions even if it upsets the more eccentric members of society.

Ok We'll ALL support them and give them a big pat on the back for what they have done. Is that what you Pro-McCann folks want ? We'll All bury our heads in the sand and pretend this neglect never happened. OK then.
