Maybe he needs some awake time in his crib to get used to it. Be sure you lay him on his back, then keep him company but stay busy: fold laundry, put clothes away, read aloud. Make sure his bedroom is a happy pace for him. Smile, laugh, talk to him, sing. Then let him sleep where he wants to. I'm thinking he will become comfortable with his bed and will be happy to sleep there. If he seems fussy and you think he's tired, pick him up, give a hug and kiss and a short snuggle, then lay him down (on his back) and let him fuss a little. He will probably fall asleep after a short cry.

What I did was I put my kids in their cribs as much as possible and every time I did it, I increased the time before I went in and got them a little longer each time. Let's say he is real tired and fussy, put him in his crib and let him stay in there and cry for 10 minutes the first time and 15 the second and 20 the third and so on. It did help w/my kids, I think it is worth a try. I would also put him in his crib when he is awake and in a good mood. Let him look at a mobile or something for a while and learn to like his crib as well.

That's hard. Have you tired maybe placing the crib in a dim, quiet, clutter free area? Maybe there is too much going on around his sleeping area. Plus if your stressed when you try to get him to sleep it won't work. He will feel cranky. Also check to make sure the sheets aren't scratchy or stiff. Maybe try putting the crib right next to your bed and gradually move it further away from you as time goes on. (not to gradual) Wait til he's so very tired and put him to sleep in the crib, with a full belly and soft sheets. Does he take his naps in the crib? If not start so he can get used to it. Whenever he naps, sleeps put him in the crib. Do all of this and then pray. LOL

Maybe you should trying talking to the doctor. My daughter wouldn't sleep in her crib either and had tons of reflux problems. With some babies laying flat just isn't an option. Try getting a crib wedge and easing him into it. If you are still having problems definitely talk to the doctors.

Well, what it might be is the feeling of being "cuddled" that is soothing and comforting to your baby. You might want to try a "swaddle blanket" for him, or those pads they make now with the cushions that go on either side of the baby to keep them from rolling - it will give him the feeling of things on either side of him.

The other thing to do is to place him in the crib, and when he starts to cry, go in and comfort him by rubbing his back and softly speaking to him. Keep it up until he drifts off or quiets down. You might have to do it for a few nights rather often, but eventually things will change. It is just a matter of reconditioning him. It does change, trust me.

Well your going to need to just put him in the crib. Crying is not going to hurt him. He needs to get use to his crib.
