My coach said that my glove was too broken in, and that if you throw it on the ground it should roll like a turtle shell not lay flat like roadkill. (Mine lays flat like roadkill) So I was just wondering if there is any way I can stiffen my glove after it has already been broken in?

When you finally break in your favorite hat and it conforms to your head perfectly and the way you want it , do you go out and buy a brand new one just to start over again? NO . you wear it till theres nothing left. because you like it and it fits YOU. So, If you like your glove and it fits YOU , then don't worry about what your coach says.(He was prolly never really good at baseball anyways). Especially if you catch good with it. If you want to get a new glove though, get it now so you can break it in real good before the other one breaks apart.

If it hurts when you catch the ball, you can add padding to the palm (or the fingers, if it's that bad).

More important, if the glove works for YOU, what does it matter WHAT your coach thinks? Are you dropping the ball, causing errors? A brand new glove might satisfy your coach's claim that it should roll, but it may not work for what your need it to work for.

Get the glove professionally replaced. It will open up the glove and give it shape again. When you get the glove replaced ask the pro about adding a palm pad, this will open up the glove more and give it a little more structure again.
