At one point bathing in alcohol was recommended for bringing down a fever, but it is no longer recommended because the baby can absorb the alcohol through their skin. I imagine they could get alcohol poisoning that way.

I'm not trying to be a smart a**, but I don't know why you'd want to bathe a baby with any alcohol. Their skin is sooooo sensitive. I don't even use alcohol on my 3 1/2 year old (for scratches or sharpie...anything).
Anyway. Babies can absorb the alcohol through their skin. That's why you wouldn't want to use it. They can basically get "drunk" from it...alcohol poinsoning. It's unhealthy.

Using rubbing alcohol was used to bring a babies temperature down when they had a fever. lt constricts the blood vessel so the little ones are not seizing from the too high body temperature which spikes unexpectedly. lt is not a good idea to use this because babies have such frail skin and it's easy for the alcohol to penetrate the skin membranes.

I have never heard of putting alcohol in a babies bath. I would think it would dry out your babies skin, but yes it is probably poisonous because of the fact that the baby can swallow it during his/her bath.

Rubbing alcohol or beer like alcohol? Just trying to get a clarification.
I've never heard of putting alcohol in the bathwater before, but I wouldn't suggest it.

why are you using that to bath your baby? it's very drying to the skin. you should be protecting your babies moisture levels with a baby approved soap.

I have never heard of that either. I would advise against it anyway. There is no need for it.

It can dehydrate them, or it can be absorbed thru their skin.
