Question

x^2 - 6x + 8.............x^2 - 15x + 56

x^2 - 17x + 56......... x^2 - 15x + 44

So far no one is correct.

The answer should be
(x-2)(x-8)
--------------
(x-10)(x-11)

I can't seem to get to this answer???

No wonder I typed it wrong.

Cancel the x-4 terms:

[(x-2)(x-8)(x-7)] / [(x-9)(x-6)(x-11)]

I can't see how "x^2-17x+56" can reduce at all.

If the answer should be:

(x-2)(x-8)

(x-10)(x-11)


then the original problem was mis-written. The first fraction should've read:

x^2-6x+8
-------------
x^2-17x+70
